Kraken is a third-party software to support Nostale players offering features such as :
Improved gameplay comfort (unlimited zoom hack, improved auto-attack range and drop range, etc.)
Cheats (attack speed, talking to an NPC at long range, etc.)
Interface customization (changing in-game FPS, changing nickname color, etc.)
Automation (automatically entering instant combat, automating raid management, etc.)
...
In practice, Kraken offers a multitude of options with varying degrees of risk. All of this is detailed in the software's features chapter.
Kraken options can be divided into three main categories which are associated with different risks, namely:
Features that only change the appearance of the client (unlimited zoom hack, FPS modification, change of color of nicknames, etc.) ⇒ the risk is almost non-existent on the game moderation side. However, the main risk is sharing your screen or a screenshot of your game with these features activated.
Automation features (automatically entering combat instantly, caligor, etc.) ⇒ the risk is rather low because these options are configured to trigger them within a random and humanly achievable timeframe.
Cheating features ⇒ the risk is high and can be detected by game moderators (GMs). The main thing to avoid is using them in public and too often (and even with this use the risk remains high).
In summary, Kraken remains relatively safe and the main risk is misuse of it (exposure of its screen, screenshots, etc.).
It is possible to disable all Kraken options at once via a button to easily share and take screenshots without worrying about it.
