# Introduction

## :octopus: What is Kraken ?

**Kraken** is a third-party software to support **Nostale** players offering features such as :

* Improved **gameplay comfort** (unlimited zoom hack, improved auto-attack range and drop range, etc.)
* **Cheats** (attack speed, talking to an NPC at long range, etc.)
* **Interface customization** (changing in-game FPS, changing nickname color, etc.)
* **Automation** (automatically entering instant combat, automating raid management, etc.)
* ...

In practice, **Kraken** offers a multitude of options with varying degrees of risk. All of this is detailed in the *software's features* chapter.

## :octopus: Is it safe to use Kraken?

In summary, **Kraken** remains **relatively safe** and the main risk is misuse of it (exposure of its screen, screenshots, etc.).

It is possible to disable all **Kraken** options at once via a button to easily share and take screenshots without worrying about it.

It is mainly the cheats options that represent the biggest risk of ban or in the event of negligence on the part of the player.
